In the 3rd match minute, Ba Ria Vung Tau FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vũ Ho to maneuver through the defense. Phan Nam blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lê Hoai having to make a save. Nguyễn Khoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Hoai having to interfere. Lê Hoai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phan Nam in the 10th minute of play. 11 minutes into the game, Saigon United's Nguyễn Khoi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lê Hoai made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Khoi in the 22nd minute of play forced Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's goalkeeper Lê Hoai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Lê Hoai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Đặng Nguyet in the 23rd minute of play. Lê Hoai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lý Bien in the 25th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Đặng Nguyet notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Lê Hoai. Lê Hoai was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lê Hoai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lý Bien, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Khoi in the 30th minute of play forced Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's goalkeeper Lê Hoai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd match minute, Ba Ria Vung Tau FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chung Lan to maneuver through the defense. Lê Hoai came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Saigon United's Đặng Nguyet. But to his dismay, Đặng Nguyet quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 38 minutes into the game, Phan Nam was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saigon United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ba Ria Vung Tau FC the free kick. In the 38th minute, Phan Nam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vũ Ho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's goal looked a bit too open when Phan Nam came free, but Lê Hoai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute Nguyễn Khoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Hoai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vũ Ho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Đặng Quang having to interfere. Lê Hoai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Đặng Nguyet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Nguyễn Quang Thanh charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Quang Thanh the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 55 played minutes Ba Ria Vung Tau FC got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Quang Thanh. With an all-out effort, Saigon United's Lê Hoai threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nguyễn Khoi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Trần Duc hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Đặng Quang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vũ Ho in the 60th minute of play. Lê Hoai came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Saigon United's Lý Bien. But to his dismay, Lý Bien quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Vũ Ho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 71 minutes into the game, Saigon United's Lý Bien nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lê Hoai made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. Lê Hoai made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lý Bien in the 76th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Phan Nam dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lê Hoai, 0-7. Lê Hoai made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Phan Nam sent off a good shot on target. Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Lê Hoai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Khoi in the 82nd minute of play. Nguyễn Tuan Hoang hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. 86 minutes into the match, Saigon United's Lê Huy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lê Hoai narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when Đặng Nguyet scored to the left of an out of position Lê Hoai, making the score, 0-8. Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Lê Hoai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Khoi in the 94th minute of play. The supporters of Saigon United booed when Ba Ria Vung Tau FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huỳnh Duc didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Ba Ria Vung Tau FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Saigon United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
