Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mai Thuy kicked off to start the match. A collision led to MASEW getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Mai Thuy hit a great ball. Dương Liem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Khoi in the 5th minute of the match. Hoàng Phuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bùi Teo in the 6th minute of play. In the 9th minute Phạm Duc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hoàng Phuc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 9th minute, Hoàng Khoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Dien Bien getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Triệu Viet hit a great ball. Hoàng Phuc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mai Thuy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dien Bien's Hoàng Phuc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phạm Duc in the 16th minute of play. MASEW's Dương Liem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Khoi in the 18th minute of play. If Phạm Duc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the match, Phạm Duc notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Dien Bien's Hoàng Phuc. Hoàng Phuc was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Phan Dung could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Dương Liem made a huge save. If Lê Thi Ngoc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of MASEW booed when Dien Bien was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Hung didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hoàng Phuc didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nguyễn Chuong went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. MASEW's Dương Liem proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save MASEW from getting a goal against them. Bùi Teo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 45 minutes of play, MASEW's Bùi Teo made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hoàng Phuc was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.
After a defensive mix-up in Dien Bien's zone, Phạm Duc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hoàng Phuc came out of the goal and Phạm Duc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Phạm Duc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 61 minutes of play, Dien Bien's Phan Dung made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dương Liem was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nguyễn Chuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hoàng Phuc having to interfere. Dien Bien's Hoàng Phuc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phạm Duc in the 67th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 68 minutes into the game, when Phan Van Tai Em put in a rough tackle. 67 minutes into the game, one of Dien Bien:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Dien Bien:s Hoàng Phuc showed great skill when he stopped Mai Thuy:s penalty. In the 71st minute of the match MASEW got a corner. Dien Bien's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mai Thuy ran over to the corner to take the kick. 75 minutes into the match, Dien Bien's goal looked a bit too open when Mai Thuy came free, but Hoàng Phuc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mai Thuy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd minute, Hoàng Tuyet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. MASEW were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Dien Bien's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mai Thuy took the corner. Lý Than's late challenge caught a Dien Bien's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lý Than helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to MASEW getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Lý Than hit a great ball. When Triệu Viet came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Dien Bien fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Triệu Viet couldn't finish the play. Mai Thuy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hoàng Phuc having to interfere. Phạm Duc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Hoàng Phuc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over MASEW could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Dien Bien throughout the match.
