After a rather tough play, Tra Vinh's Hoàng Loc got a free kick in the 18th minute. Nguyễn Duc hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the match, HoangNamFc's Lê Minh sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nguyễn Hoang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lê Thien in the 78th minute of the match. Phan Liem stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Phạm Dinh's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. 90 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Loc was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. HoangNamFc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tra Vinh the free kick. A collision led to HoangNamFc getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. In the 93rdth minute of the game Lê Thien who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tra Vinh's Nguyễn Nghiêm-Minh was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lê Thien recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Tra Vinh supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tra Vinh would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
