Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nguyễn Khoi took the kick off in the first half of the match. Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Phan Tan managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Văn Thi in the 3 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vũ Ho in the 5th minute of play forced Dien Bien's goalkeeper Hoàng Phuc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Quang Thanh struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Hoàng Phuc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ba Ria Vung Tau FC. 7 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Khoi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Lê Hoai was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lê Hoai was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Nguyễn Khoi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nguyễn Khoi really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 14th minute, Vũ Ho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Vũ Ho came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Ba Ria Vung Tau FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vũ Ho couldn't finish the play. In the 16th minute, Nguyễn Hung hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Khoi in the 20th minute of play forced Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's goalkeeper Lê Hoai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lê Hoai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hoàng Tuyet in the 21st minute of play. In the 24th minute Vũ Ho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hoàng Phuc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27thth minute of the game Vũ Ho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dien Bien's Hoàng Phuc was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Vũ Ho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the game, Vũ Ho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Hoàng Phuc was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 38 minutes of play, Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Nguyễn Quang Thanh made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hoàng Phuc was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 43 played minutes Ba Ria Vung Tau FC got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Khoi. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vũ Ho to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Nguyễn Khoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Hoai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Dien Bien booed when Ba Ria Vung Tau FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Huỳnh Duc didn't get a good kick on the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Pham notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Lê Hoai. Lê Hoai was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 61st minute, Vũ Ho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lê Hoai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hoàng Tuyet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th match minute, Ba Ria Vung Tau FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Huỳnh Duc to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Khoi in the 65th minute of play forced Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's goalkeeper Lê Hoai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dien Bien's Hoàng Phuc proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Dien Bien from getting a goal against them. When Nguyễn Khoi fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's protests and gave Nguyễn Khoi a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ba Ria Vung Tau FC booed when Dien Bien was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Hung didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Khoi scored 4-2 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lê Hoai, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 85 minutes into the match, Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hoàng Tuyet came free, but Lê Hoai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lê Hoai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hoàng Khoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After 87 played minutes Dien Bien got a freekick which was hit by Hoàng Tuyet. After a rather tough play, Dien Bien's Văn Thi got a free kick in the 88th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Vũ Ho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hoàng Phuc. That made the score 4-3 in the 93 minute of play.
