To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 26th minute of the match Nguyễn Binh shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nghiêm Diem showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Đặng Nguyet charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Đặng Nguyet the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 32nd match minute, Saigon United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Đặng Nguyet to maneuver through the defense. Lý Bien might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nghiêm Diem. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lý Bien ran back to his position shaking his head. Lê Hanh hit a great freekick 49 minutes into the match. In the 50th minute of the match Lê Huy sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nghiêm Diem skillfully saved the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nguyễn Lan made a kick off. Nguyễn Lan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Đặng Quang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Lý Bien managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saigon United's supporters rose to their feet, but Lý Bien was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nghiêm Diem breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. PADFC's Nghiêm Diem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lý Bien in the 59th minute of play. Nghiêm Diem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lý Bien in the 61st minute of play. After having played for 63 minutes, Lý Bien managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saigon United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lý Bien was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 69 minutes into the match, Lý Bien had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nghiêm Diem. PADFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lý Bien was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Phạm Bien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Đặng Quang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, PADFC's Nguyễn Thi Ngoc got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 76th minute Nguyễn Khoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nghiêm Diem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Khoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Nghiêm Diem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Saigon United's Lý Bien got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Nguyễn Khoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
