Đỗ Hoang stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Huỳnh Tinh's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. The supporters of Dong Xoai booed when Hue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Hoang didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Hue's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Tan came free, but Hồ Liem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Nguyễn Phuc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Thi kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Huỳnh Tinh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Đỗ Hoang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute of the match, Nguyễn Phuc tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Đỗ Hoang saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Phuc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Đỗ Hoang was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. But to his dismay, Huỳnh Tinh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nguyễn Duc made a kick off. Đỗ Hoang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Huỳnh Tinh, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Nguyễn Thi kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. In the 58th minute of the match Trần Lam shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Đỗ Hoang showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nguyễn Duong's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 60thth minute, Hồ Liem skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Hồ Liem successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Huỳnh Tinh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Đỗ Hoang having to interfere. Nguyễn Tan's late challenge caught a Hue's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Tan helped the player get up and apologised. After 66 played minutes Dong Xoai got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Tan. Nguyễn Duc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hồ Liem having to interfere. 78 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Thi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dong Xoai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hue the free kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Nguyễn Duc kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hồ Liem. That made the score 1-1 in the 80 minute of play. Nguyễn Phuc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Đỗ Hoang having to interfere. If Nguyễn Duc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Phuc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Đỗ Hoang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Đỗ Hoang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Huỳnh Tinh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Huỳnh Tinh's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Đỗ Hoang read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. In the 96th match minute, Dong Xoai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Tan to maneuver through the defense.
