Hồ Liem made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 61st minute, Lê Tuan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Manchester United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Huỳnh Tinh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Vũ Dung made a huge save. 75 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Phuc came free, but Vũ Dung reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
