Seating: 1935, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nguyễn Duc kicked off to start the match. Nguyễn Hoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Duc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Võ Tu in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Đỗ Hoang prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nguyễn Van Quyen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Đỗ Hoang having to interfere. In the 25th match minute, Dong Xoai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Tan to maneuver through the defense. Võ Tu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Đỗ Hoang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Võ Tu in the 33rd minute of play forced Dong Xoai's goalkeeper Đỗ Hoang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Võ Tu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Đỗ Hoang having to make a save. Đỗ Hoang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Van Quyen, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After having played for 47 minutes, Võ Tu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Can Tho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Võ Tu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nguyễn Van Quyen to strike the kick off in the second half. Can Tho's Nguyễn Hoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Duong in the 58th minute of play. Nguyễn Van Quyen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Đỗ Hoang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Võ Tu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Đỗ Hoang read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Dong Xoai's Nguyễn Duc got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Duc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Hoa having to interfere. Nguyễn Thai charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Thai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Dong Xoai booed when Can Tho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Thai didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Can Tho's Nguyễn Duong got a free kick in the 78th minute. After 80 played minutes Can Tho got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Duong. Nguyễn Xuan's late challenge caught a Dong Xoai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Xuan helped the player get up and apologised. Nguyễn Xuan hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Can Tho's Nguyễn Hoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Duc in the 84th minute of play. Nguyễn Duc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
