Nguyễn Nguyet didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hồ Binh went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Nguyễn Nguyet came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Cao Xanh Ward's Lê Than. But to his dismay, Lê Than quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Cao Xanh Ward's Lê Than played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Phong in the 18th minute of play. Lê Than made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Viet in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Phong in the 24th minute of play forced Cao Xanh Ward's goalkeeper Lê Than to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25 played minutes Long Xuyen got a freekick which was hit by Hoàng Mai. Nguyễn Nguyet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lê Than, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nguyễn Dong charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Dong the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Cao Xanh Ward's Nguyễn Dong got a free kick in the 29th minute. Nguyễn Phong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. During the 31st minute of the match Nguyễn Dong completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Nguyễn Dong a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 32nd minute, Nguyễn Dong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Hồ Binh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cao Xanh Ward's Lê Than proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Cao Xanh Ward from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Hồ Binh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Nguyet was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. If Nguyễn Than had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Long Xuyen players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cao Xanh Ward were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Phong to make the kick off. Nguyễn Nguyet didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 77th minute, which inside left pole to 0-4. 81 minutes into the match, Lê Minh-ha notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Cao Xanh Ward's Lê Than. Lê Than was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cao Xanh Ward's goalkeeper Lê Than, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ngô Phuc hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. If Trần Tuan Hoang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th minute, Nguyễn Phong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match was over Cao Xanh Ward could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Long Xuyen throughout the match.
