Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bùi Van Quyen started the match with the kick off. Huỳnh Tinh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Vũ Dung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Huỳnh Tinh came free with the goalkeeper in the 7th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vũ Dung could save by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Lê Tuan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United's supporters rose to their feet, but Lê Tuan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hồ Liem breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lê Tuan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Huỳnh Tinh came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Hue fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Huỳnh Tinh couldn't finish the play. Manchester United's Vũ Dung proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Manchester United from getting a goal against them. Hue's Hồ Liem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bùi Van Quyen in the 21st minute of play. Bùi Van Quyen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bùi Van Quyen in the 44th minute of play forced Hue's goalkeeper Hồ Liem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Phuc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Phuc to make the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Nguyễn Phuc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hue's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Phuc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Phuc's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vũ Dung read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. In the 63rd minute Manchester United were awarded a corner. Trần Minh went to the cornerflag to take it. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Nguyễn Loc advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-1 in the 63rd minute. Vũ Dung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Huỳnh Tinh in the 68th minute of play. After some careless play in the Hue defense, Bùi Van Quyen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hồ Liem. The Hue fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hồ Liem should have stopped the shot. Trần Minh hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Huỳnh Tinh struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Vũ Dung didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hue. 88 minutes into the match, Huỳnh Tinh notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Manchester United's Vũ Dung. Vũ Dung was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lê Tuan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Hồ Liem made a huge save. Hue were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Manchester United to leave the ground with a draw.
