The crowd rose to their feet as Szymon Paciuszko kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nguyễn Hoa. That made the score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. With a little luck, Can Tho's Nguyễn Hoa got control of the ball when Szymon Paciuszko tried to sneak it across the goal line. Szymon Paciuszko hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the game, Võ Tu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Can Tho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saigon Kick the free kick. Szymon Paciuszko's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Nguyễn Hoa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Can Tho's zone, Lê Hung stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Hoa came out of the goal and Lê Hung tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Nguyet during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th minute of the match Triệu Thai sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Trần Hoang skillfully saved the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Szymon Paciuszko to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Can Tho's goal looked a bit too open when Szymon Paciuszko came free, but Nguyễn Hoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Szymon Paciuszko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Thai kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Szymon Paciuszko's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Hoa was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. 72 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Van Quyen dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Trần Hoang, 1-1. If Nguyễn Thai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lương Quang Thanh hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Nguyet hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
