When Phan Bien fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 7-1 FC's protests and gave Phan Bien a yellow card for diving instead. Phan Bien hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, PhuTho's Trần Bay ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nghiêm Binh. Nghiêm Binh yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Nguyễn Cuc's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. Trần Bay might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nghiêm Binh. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Trần Bay ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 75th match minute, PhuTho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lê Tuyet to maneuver through the defense. Dương Lan acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 77th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Lê Tran. PhuTho's Lê Tuyet managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Trần Hieu Ngan in the 79 minute of the game. After having played for 80 minutes, Trần Bay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
