With a left leg Phạm Tran saved United Fandom FC from getting behind. Chung Hieu Ngan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Thi having to interfere. A collision led to Lao Cai getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Chung Hoang hit a great ball. Mai Phong struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Phạm Tran didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lao Cai. If Mai Phong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chung Hieu Ngan in the 20th minute of play forced Lao Cai's goalkeeper Nguyễn Thi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lý Minh-ha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phạm Tran having to interfere. If Nguyễn Tuan Hoang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 31st minute of the match, Mai Phong tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Phạm Tran saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 32nd minute, Nguyễn Than hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute Nguyễn Tuan Hoang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Thi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When United Fandom FC's Chung Hieu Ngan in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lao Cai's goalie prevented a goal. In the 37th minute Chung Hieu Ngan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Thi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chung Hieu Ngan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Nguyễn Thi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Phan Hoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute, Nguyễn Binh sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and United Fandom FC's Phạm Tran didn't even have to move. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Mai Phong made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes United Fandom FC got a freekick which was hit by Trần Hong Minh. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mai Phong in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phạm Tran saved United Fandom FC from getting behind. Phan Hoa's late challenge caught a Lao Cai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Phan Hoa helped the player get up and apologised. Phan Hoa kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. During the 61st minute of the match Phan Hoa completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Phan Hoa a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 62nd match minute, United Fandom FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phan Hoa to maneuver through the defense. Phạm Tran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mai Phong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Lý Minh-ha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Phạm Tran was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. In the 74th match minute, United Fandom FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Than to maneuver through the defense. Mai Phong blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Phạm Tran having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Trần Hong Minh during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 79 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for United Fandom FC! Nguyễn Binh walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Nguyễn Tuan Hoang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nguyễn Thi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Lý Minh-ha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Phạm Tran was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. When Nguyễn Than fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored United Fandom FC's protests and gave Nguyễn Than a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Lao Cai booed when United Fandom FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Than didn't get a good kick on the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
