Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Liễu Tho started the match with the kick off. Liễu Tho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vũ Than having to interfere. Phú Thọ FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Liễu Tho 10 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. If Nguyễn Minh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nguyễn Minh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phú Thọ FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 20th minute, when Liễu Tho scored to the left of an out of position Vũ Than, making the score, 2-0. Nguyễn Loc could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Vũ Than made a huge save. Vũ Than stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Liễu Tho's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Nguyễn Tuan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Đào Anh Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Phạm Quang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37th minute, Nguyễn Cadeo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Da Lat's Đào Anh Hung didn't even have to move. If Liễu Tho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, Da Lat's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Tuan came free, but Đào Anh Hung reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Phú Thọ FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Đặng Phuc hit a great ball. Vũ Than took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liễu Tho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nguyễn Tuan to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Phú Thọ FC got a freekick which was hit by Chung Hoang. After a defensive mix-up in Da Lat's zone, Nguyễn Tuan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Đào Anh Hung came out of the goal and Nguyễn Tuan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Nguyễn Minh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vũ Than made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Liễu Tho in the 59th minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Phú Thọ FC's Nguyễn Tuan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Đào Anh Hung. Đào Anh Hung yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Vũ Than showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Loc in the 66th minute of the match. In the 68th minute, Nguyễn Loc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nguyễn Minh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Đào Anh Hung made a huge save. Nguyễn Minh in the 72ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Đào Anh Hung, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 74th minute, Nguyễn Minh left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Phú Thọ FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Lý Bien hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Phú Thọ FC's Nguyễn Cadeo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 78th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Da Lat. In the 79th minute, Lý Bien hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nguyễn Minh struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Đào Anh Hung didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Phú Thọ FC. Nguyễn Loc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Vũ Than tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nguyễn Minh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, Phú Thọ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Loc came free, but Vũ Than reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Nguyễn Loc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 95 minutes into the match, Phú Thọ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Loc came free, but Vũ Than reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Phú Thọ FC defense, Liễu Tho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vũ Than. The Phú Thọ FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vũ Than should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Da Lat fans cheered their team off the field, for while Phú Thọ FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
