To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Loc in the 18th minute of play forced Skyblue's goalkeeper Lê Anh Hung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Loc had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lê Anh Hung. Skyblue's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nguyễn Loc was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Đào Anh Hung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Lan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nguyễn Loc's late challenge caught a Skyblue's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Loc helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th minute, Nguyễn Loc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Phạm Mai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Nguyễn Loc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liễu Tho in the 36th minute of play forced Skyblue's goalkeeper Lê Anh Hung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Nguyễn Loc ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lê Anh Hung was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Phạm Mai to strike the kick off in the second half. Lê Anh Hung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Liễu Tho, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 53 minutes into the game, Da Lat's Nguyễn Loc nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lê Anh Hung made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. 59 minutes into the match, Da Lat's goal looked a bit too open when Phạm Mai came free, but Đào Anh Hung reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Loc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Lý Bien could shoot a difficult shot in the 66th minute, which Lê Anh Hung however easily saved by the left post. Phạm Mai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Đào Anh Hung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 71 minutes of play, Da Lat's Nguyễn Loc made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lê Anh Hung was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nguyễn Loc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Anh Hung having to interfere. The supporters of Da Lat booed when Skyblue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lương Binh didn't get a good kick on the ball.
