Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Trần Hoang took the kick off in the first half of the match. Mong Cai's Nghiêm Cadeo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Diem in the 3rd minute of play. Nguyễn Ritchell scored 1-0 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nguyễn Chung, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 12th minute, Đoàn Hanh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Nguyễn Chung managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when Mong Cai's Liễu Tan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 18 minutes, Liễu Tan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mong Cai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Liễu Tan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Nguyễn Diem came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Samba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Diem couldn't finish the play. Nghiêm Cadeo came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Samba's Trần Hoang. But to his dismay, Trần Hoang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Nguyễn Diem recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Diem received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Nghiêm Cadeo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nguyễn Ritchell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Ritchell was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Trần Hoang in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nghiêm Cadeo saved Mong Cai from getting behind. In the 71st minute, Mong Cai's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Trần Hoang fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Nguyễn Chung's late challenge caught a Samba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Chung helped the player get up and apologised. In the 73rd minute, Nguyễn Chung hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute, Dương Dung sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Mong Cai's Nghiêm Cadeo didn't even have to move. Nguyễn Chung got his second yellow card in the match during the 76th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 78th minute of the match Dương Dung sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nghiêm Cadeo skillfully saved the ball. An unexpected shot in the 81st minute by Nguyễn Diem got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Trần Hoang managed to get in a good position for a shot. Samba's supporters rose to their feet, but Trần Hoang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nghiêm Cadeo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Trần Hoang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Nghiêm Cadeo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nghiêm Cadeo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Hoang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nghiêm Cadeo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trần Hoang, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Liễu Tan kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Trần Hoang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nghiêm Cadeo having to interfere. Despite being the better team, Samba failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
