After 33 minutes of play, Tuyin Quan's Trần Than made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nguyễn Bien was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nguyễn Xuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute, Triệu Hung hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 44 minutes, Trần Than made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ngôi Sao Vàng's Nguyễn Bien tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Phan Tong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Bien having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Tuyin Quan's goalkeeper Đỗ Diem had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dương Xuan. Many of Ngôi Sao Vàng's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ngôi Sao Vàng may have spent more time on the ball, but Tuyin Quan were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
