Thanks to some nice moves Nguyễn Minh could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Đỗ Diem however easily saved by the left post. Phú Thọ FC's Vũ Than played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phan Tong in the 21st minute of play. In the 27th minute, Nguyễn Nam ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Đỗ Diem was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Đào Tinh scored 2-0 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Đỗ Diem, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Đào Tinh struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Đỗ Diem didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Phú Thọ FC. 38 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Minh cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Đỗ Diem was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Phú Thọ FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Nguyễn Minh hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nguyễn Tuan to make the kick off. Đỗ Diem didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Huỳnh Lien went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. 57 minutes into the game, Trần Than cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Vũ Than was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Tuyin Quan booed when Phú Thọ FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Nam didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the game, Hồ Van Tai Em was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tuyin Quan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Phú Thọ FC the free kick. In the 71st minute Nguyễn Minh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Đỗ Diem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tuyin Quan's Đỗ Diem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Nam in the 76th minute of play. In the 78th match minute, Phú Thọ FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Tuan to maneuver through the defense. 79 minutes into the game, Tuyin Quan's Trần Than nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vũ Than made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. Đỗ Diem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Minh in the 87th minute of the match. Đỗ Diem came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Phú Thọ FC's Nguyễn Nam. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Nam quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Minh in the 91st minute of play forced Tuyin Quan's goalkeeper Đỗ Diem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Đỗ Diem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Tuan in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 98th minute Nguyễn Tuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Đỗ Diem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Phú Thọ FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
