Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kien Giang's Nguyễn Chuong started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nguyễn Chuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Chung having to interfere. Liễu Hoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Kien Giang's Hoàng Pham got a free kick in the 10th minute. Trần Hoang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Chuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Chung having to interfere. Liễu Hoa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Trần Hoang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Diem in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Trần Dong saved Kien Giang from getting behind. Nguyễn Chung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Chuong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Nguyễn Tuan fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kien Giang's protests and gave Nguyễn Tuan a yellow card for diving instead. If Trần Hoang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 44th match minute Văn Hoang ran free in the middle of the field and shot a long shot which scored behind a totally surprised Nguyễn Chung. 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Trần Hoang made the kick off in the second half. Trần Dong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Diem in the 51st minute. Nguyễn Chung took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liễu Hoa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nguyễn Chung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Chuong, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After a rather tough play, Samba's Phùng Hoang got a free kick in the 59th minute. After having played for 61 minutes, Liễu Hoa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kien Giang's supporters crossed their fingers, but Liễu Hoa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nguyễn Chuong took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nguyễn Chung. Nguyễn Chung dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Liễu Hoa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Nguyễn Chung tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Nguyễn Diem managed to get in a good position for a shot. Samba's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Diem was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trần Dong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 79th minute, Nguyễn Chuong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 81 minutes, Trần Hoang made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Kien Giang's Trần Dong tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Trần Hoang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Samba players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Kien Giang.
