Cao Xanh FC's Trần Cong Vinh got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Cao Xanh FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Trần Cong Vinh was the one to do the kick off. Ha Noi F.C.V.'s Huỳnh Tu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Cong Vinh in the 60th minute of play. In the 63rd minute of the match Huỳnh Chuong shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bùi Phuoc showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 64th minute, Hồ Phuc left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ha Noi F.C.V. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Cao Xanh FC's Trần Cong Vinh slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Huỳnh Tu. That made the score 2-4 after 68 minutes of play. If Tôn Lam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Thuy in the 76th minute of play forced Cao Xanh FC's goalkeeper Bùi Phuoc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Nguyễn Nhật Minh in the 79th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Cao Xanh FC's Phan Thai. Trần Cong Vinh in the 80thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Huỳnh Tu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Trần Cong Vinh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute Nguyễn Chung shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Huỳnh Tu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Hoai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Huỳnh Tu having to interfere. A collision led to Ha Noi F.C.V. getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Nguyễn Thuy hit a great ball. Cao Xanh FC played a much better game than Ha Noi F.C.V. and deserved their victory. The Ha Noi F.C.V. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
