The crowd rose to their feet as Xuân Lôc's Phan Thi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lê Phuc. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. Phan Thi scored 2-0 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lê Phuc, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Phạm Ritchell kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. When Mai Dung fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xuân Lôc's protests and gave Mai Dung a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Dan FC booed when Xuân Lôc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mai Dung didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Phan Van Tai Em fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 20thth minute of the game Phan Thi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dan FC's Lê Phuc was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Xuân Lôc's Phan Thi came free and shot a quick shot against goal 22 minutes in the game, fortunately Lê Phuc had problems saving as it came toward the left post. After 24th play minutes Phan Thi shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Lê Phuc and just under the crossbar into goal. Xuân Lôc's Phan Van Tai Em got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Xuân Lôc defense, Bùi Mai kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lê Nga. The Xuân Lôc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lê Nga should have stopped the shot. Dan FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Phan Van Tai Em 37 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-1. Phan This short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Lê Phuc to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Lê Phuc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phan Thi in the 41st minute. Lê Phuc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phan Van Tai Em, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Phan Thi in the 47thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lê Phuc, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.

After a rather tough play, Dan FC's Bùi Mai got a free kick in the 51st minute. Lê Phuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phan Thi in the 54th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phan Van Tai Em in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lê Phuc saved Dan FC from getting behind. If Phan Thi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd match minute, Xuân Lôc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tôn Tuan Hoang to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Lê Duc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 77 played minutes, Xuân Lôc's Phan Thi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lê Phuc came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Xuân Lôc reached it. Trần Cuc hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Lê Phuc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phan Thi, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dan FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Phan Thi was slow to take the kick. During this time Xuân Lôc's players had a chance to rest. In the 85th minute, Phạm Ritchell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Đặng Cong Vinh took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 86th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lê Nga. Xuân Lôc's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 91st minute Phan Thi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Phuc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Xuân Lôc fully deserved thier win.
