Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nguyễn Minh got the match started through his kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Sa Pa's zone, Nguyễn Minh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tạ Tuan came out of the goal and Nguyễn Minh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nguyễn Phong in the 6th minute of play forced Sa Pa's goalkeeper Tạ Tuan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute, Nguyễn Phong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nguyễn Minh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tạ Tuan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Minh's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Nguyễn Phong managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lang Son's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Phong was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tạ Tuan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Trần Van Quyen was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 45th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Nguyễn Minh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vương Hoang to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Sa Pa's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Minh came free, but Tạ Tuan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Phong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tạ Tuan having to interfere. Lang Son's Nguyễn Minh got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tạ Tuan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Phong in the 78th minute. Sa Pa's Tạ Tuan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Minh in the 79th minute of play. If Nguyễn Huy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nguyễn Phong in the 88thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tạ Tuan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Nguyễn Minh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Đỗ Tuyet during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lang Son were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
