Tạ Tuan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lê Hieu in the 6th minute of the match. With a little luck, Sa Pa's Tạ Tuan got control of the ball when Melvin Mabanag tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lê Hieu struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Tạ Tuan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DA NANG. Sa Pa's Tạ Tuan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Sa Pa from getting a goal against them. Lê Hieu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tạ Tuan having to make a save. Lê Hieu scored 2-0 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tạ Tuan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tạ Tuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Hieu in the 31st minute of play. Lê Hieu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lê Hieu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Đỗ Tuyet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vương Hoang to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Sa Pa defense, Lê Hieu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tạ Tuan. The Sa Pa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tạ Tuan should have stopped the shot. Sa Pa's Tạ Tuan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lê Hieu in the 56th minute of play. Trần Pham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Tạ Tuan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trần Pham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tạ Tuan having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Lê Hieu managed to get in a good position for a shot. DA NANG's supporters rose to their feet, but Lê Hieu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tạ Tuan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tạ Tuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Hieu in the 71st minute of play. DA NANG's Phạm Tấn Dũng proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save DA NANG from getting a goal against them. If Nguyễn Tinh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 78 played minutes DA NANG got a freekick which was hit by La Anh Hung. Sa Pa's Phan Chung couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 79th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for DA NANG. After 80 minutes, La Anh Hung mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DA NANG and the Sa Pa players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Sa Pa booed when DA NANG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. La Anh Hung didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trần Pham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Sa Pa's zone, La Anh Hung stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tạ Tuan came out of the goal and La Anh Hung tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tạ Tuan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lê Hieu, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. DA NANG's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
