Nguyễn Bien came out of the goal and Torsten Grep tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torsten Grep in the 41st minute of play forced Vinah Long's goalkeeper Nguyễn Bien to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Torsten Grep scored 0-5 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nguyễn Bien, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Huỳnh Bien's late challenge caught a Vinah Long's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Huỳnh Bien helped the player get up and apologised. Huỳnh Bien hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nguyễn Chuong stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Huỳnh Chung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Torsten Grep fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Bien having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Phạm Nam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nguyễn Bien acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 72nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nguyễn Loc. Nguyễn Chuong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Bien was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Nguyễn Liem capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. After a rather tough play, Vinah Long's Nguyễn Thi Ngoc got a free kick in the 85th minute.
