After having played for 10 minutes, Hoàng Hoa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lao Baoa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hoàng Hoa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Huỳnh Dinh came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Hoa Binh's Trương Phuoc. But to his dismay, Trương Phuoc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Huỳnh Dinh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Dung in the 18th minute of play. Huỳnh Dinh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trương Phuoc, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Trương Phuoc took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Huỳnh Dinh. Huỳnh Dinh dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. 31 minutes into the match, Lao Baoa's goal looked a bit too open when Phạm Tho came free, but Huỳnh Dinh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lao Baoa's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lương Tuan was slow to take the kick. During this time Hoa Binh's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, Hoa Binh's Đào Chuong got a free kick in the 34th minute. Huỳnh Dinh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phạm Tho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Phạm Cuc could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Trần Chuong made a huge save. If Phạm Tho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trương Phuoc in the 47th minute of play forced Lao Baoa's goalkeeper Huỳnh Dinh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Phạm Tho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Trương Phuoc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Huỳnh Dinh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 53rd minute Phạm Tho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Huỳnh Dinh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Dung did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-4 to the left of a surprised Huỳnh Dinh 55 minutes into the match. Huỳnh Dinh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Dung in the 63rd minute of the match. Lao Baoa's Nguyễn Phong got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 70 played minutes Phạm Tho rounded Lao Baoa's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-5. Nguyễn Dung struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Huỳnh Dinh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hoa Binh. Phạm Tho succeeded in the game's 87th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-7. After a defensive mix-up in Lao Baoa's zone, Nguyễn Tuyet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Huỳnh Dinh came out of the goal and Nguyễn Tuyet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nguyễn Lien kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Lao Baoa's Huỳnh Dinh got control of the ball when Trương Phuoc tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hoa Binh's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
