With an all-out effort, Gang Thép FC's Bùi Than threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Trần Hieu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 7th minute Đỗ Duc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Huynh Duc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Đỗ Duc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Đỗ Duc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Nguyễn Huynh Duc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Đỗ Duc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Huynh Duc having to interfere. Nguyễn Huynh Duc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Thuyet in the 15th minute of the match. Đỗ Duc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Nguyễn Huynh Duc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trần Thuyet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Huynh Duc having to interfere. Nguyễn Hoang charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Hoang the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 33rd minute, Đỗ Duc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 36 minutes in the game, Trần Hieu fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Bùi Than having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, TT FC's goal looked a bit too open when Trần Hieu came free, but Bùi Than reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Trần Tan might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bùi Than. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Trần Tan ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, TT FC's Bùi Than got control of the ball when Chung Huỳnh tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half TT FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Trần Hieu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Trần Hieu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bùi Than was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Gang Thép FC's Trần Tan got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 59 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Hoang was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. TT FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gang Thép FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, TT FC's Nguyễn Hoang got a free kick in the 59th minute. A collision led to Gang Thép FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Trần Hieu hit a great ball. Nguyễn Huynh Duc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Đỗ Duc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 69 minutes into the game, Phùng Loc was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. TT FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gang Thép FC the free kick. The supporters of Gang Thép FC booed when TT FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phùng Loc didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bùi Than took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Hieu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute, Nguyễn Hoang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 75 minutes into the match, Gang Thép FC's goalkeeper Nguyễn Huynh Duc had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Trần Thuyet. The audience was convinced that Đỗ Duc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nguyễn Huynh Duc was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Trịnh Phuong hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Gang Thép FC's Trần Hieu got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Trần Thuyet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. TT FC's Bùi Than played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Hieu in the 92nd minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Trần Tan notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of TT FC's Bùi Than. Bùi Than was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Trần Tan scored 2-1 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bùi Than, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the TT FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gang Thép FC.
