After 20 played minutes Phạm Phuong rounded Bac Ninh's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. Võ Phucs short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Tạ Nga to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 30th minute of the match, Phạm Phuong tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tạ Nga saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Phạm Phuong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Võ Phuc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 35 in the game by Võ Phuc from a close distance when the talented Tạ Nga managed to make a qualified save. Bac Ninh's players were relieved. Phạm Phuong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Võ Phuc got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bac Ninh's Tạ Nga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Bac Ninh from getting a goal against them. When Nguyễn Pham fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bac Ninh's protests and gave Nguyễn Pham a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Hai Phong booed when Bac Ninh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Pham didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mai Minh made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Võ Phuc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tạ Nga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Pham hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Phạm Phuong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Tạ Nga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 63 played minutes Hai Phong got a freekick which was hit by Võ Phuc. Nguyễn Huynh Duc charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Huynh Duc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 71st minute, Nguyễn Viet made a precise shot to the right of Lê Diem. Hai Phong's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Phạm Phuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tạ Nga having to interfere. The supporters of Hai Phong booed when Bac Ninh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. When the match clock showed 89 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Võ Phuc sped through Bac Ninh's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tạ Nga. When Phạm Phuong came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Hai Phong fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phạm Phuong couldn't finish the play. Hai Phong walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
