Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Lao Baoa's Nguyễn Phong started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Trần Hieu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Huỳnh Dinh made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Trần Tan sent off a good shot on target. Huỳnh Dinh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trần Hieu in the 7th minute of play. In the 8thth minute of the game Trần Hieu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lao Baoa's Huỳnh Dinh was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Huỳnh Dinh came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Gang Thép FC's Trần Tan. But to his dismay, Trần Tan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After having played for 20 minutes, Võ Cuc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gang Thép FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Võ Cuc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Trần Tan notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Lao Baoa's Huỳnh Dinh. Huỳnh Dinh was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Nguyễn Hoang fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gang Thép FC's protests and gave Nguyễn Hoang a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th minute, Nguyễn Hoang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 27 minutes, Nguyễn Phong managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lưu Tong didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Thi Ngoc during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Gang Thép FC booed when Lao Baoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc didn't get a good kick on the ball. Huỳnh Dinh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Hieu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Huỳnh Dinh managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Gang Thép FC's Trần Tan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Hoàng Hoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Lao Baoa's Huỳnh Dinh got control of the ball when Trần Tan tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Trần Hieu made a kick off. The supporters of Gang Thép FC booed when Lao Baoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Thi Ngoc didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Lao Baoa's goal looked a bit too open when Trần Tan came free, but Huỳnh Dinh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, Trần Tan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gang Thép FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 65th minute Trần Tan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Huỳnh Dinh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lao Baoa! In the 68th minute there was a penalty for Gang Thép FC. Chung Huỳnh stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Huỳnh Dinh. 4-0. Lưu Tong's late challenge caught a Lao Baoa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lưu Tong helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th minute, Lưu Tong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Hoàng Hoa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lao Baoa's supporters rose to their feet, but Hoàng Hoa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Huynh Duc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Hieu in the 79th minute of play forced Lao Baoa's goalkeeper Huỳnh Dinh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Huỳnh Dinh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Hieu in the 82nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trần Tan in the 89th minute of play forced Lao Baoa's goalkeeper Huỳnh Dinh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
