Nguyễn Bien showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boleslaw Moizuk in the 9th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Lưu Phuong could shoot a difficult shot in the 11th minute, which Nguyễn Bien however easily saved by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Trần Tinh during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th minute, Trần Tinh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nguyễn Chuong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Nguyễn Chuong put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Mattias Thorsberg. After a rather tough play, Vinah Long's Phạm Nam got a free kick in the 28th minute. The supporters of Poseidon booed when Vinah Long was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Ho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vinah Long's goalkeeper Nguyễn Bien, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Vinah Long defense, Vágner Dias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nguyễn Bien. The Vinah Long fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nguyễn Bien should have stopped the shot. Nguyễn Bien made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Vágner Dias sent off a good shot on target. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vágner Dias made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vágner Dias in the 51st minute of play forced Vinah Long's goalkeeper Nguyễn Bien to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vágner Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 54 minutes into the match, Poseidon's Gonçalo Loureiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nguyễn Bien narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nguyễn Bien took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vágner Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nguyễn Chuong hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Vinah Long's Nguyễn Bien played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boleslaw Moizuk in the 63rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Vinah Long defense, Vágner Dias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nguyễn Bien. The Vinah Long fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nguyễn Bien should have stopped the shot. Boleslaw Moizuk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Chuong hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute Vágner Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Bien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Vinah Long getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Nguyễn Chuong hit a great ball. Nguyễn Bien came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Poseidon's Boleslaw Moizuk. But to his dismay, Boleslaw Moizuk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. In the 83rd minute Boleslaw Moizuk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Bien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Gonçalo Loureiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poseidon's supporters rose to their feet, but Gonçalo Loureiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Bien breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vinah Long's Nguyễn Bien played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boleslaw Moizuk in the 88th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Huỳnh Loc during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vágner Dias in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Bien prevented the ball from getting in the gole. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Poseidon fully deserved thier win.
