The supporters of Dao Phuong booed when Cam Ranh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Đặng Duc didn't get a good kick on the ball. The wind increased when Nguyễn Bien made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Nguyễn Duong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Dao Phuong getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Nghiêm Nam hit a great ball. When Nguyễn Duong in the 56th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Vũ Hong kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-2 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Nguyễn Teo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Vũ Hong made a huge save. When Nguyễn Teo came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Cam Ranh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Teo couldn't finish the play. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dao Phuong's goalkeeper Vũ Hong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vũ Hong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Teo in the 68th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Đặng Thuyet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dao Phuong's supporters rose to their feet, but Đặng Thuyet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bùi Hoa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
