The referee ignored leverkusen's protests and gave Nguyễn Tuan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th minute, Nguyễn Tuan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Nguyễn Chi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Lê Hoang fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lang Son's protests and gave Lê Hoang a yellow card for diving instead.
