Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5875, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dương Nam took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Nguyễn Thien came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Dao Phuong fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Thien couldn't finish the play. Vũ Hong came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Lao Cai 24's Nguyễn Lam. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Lam quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Nguyễn Thien charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Thien the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nguyễn Lam struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Vũ Hong didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lao Cai 24. Nguyễn Bien struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nguyễn Lam got free with Vũ Hong in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nguyễn Lam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Vũ Hong made a huge save. 29 minutes into the match, Dao Phuong's goal looked a bit too open when Dương Nam came free, but Vũ Hong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vũ Hong made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Phạm Lan sent off a good shot on target. Lê Cuc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Bien, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35thth minute of the game Dương Nam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dao Phuong's Vũ Hong was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lê Cuc came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Dao Phuong's Nguyễn Bien. But to his dismay, Nguyễn Bien quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Lê Cuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Bien in the 40th minute of play. Nguyễn Bien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Cuc having to interfere. Lê Cuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nghiêm Nam in the 45th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nguyễn Bien made a kick off. Đặng Thuyet's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lê Cuc firmly grabbed it by the left post. Nghiêm Nam received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lê Cuc came out and tried to block the shot, but Nghiêm Nam slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 56th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dương Nam in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vũ Hong saved Dao Phuong from getting behind. Dao Phuong were furious when Lê Tran was red carded, 63 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After a rather tough play, Dao Phuong's Lê Tran got a free kick in the 64th minute. After having played for 65 minutes, Dương Nam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lao Cai 24's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dương Nam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 68 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Phạm Lan sped through Dao Phuong's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vũ Hong. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Dao Phuong's goalkeeper Vũ Hong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Lam in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vũ Hong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Nguyễn Thien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Đỗ Chung kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lao Cai 24's goalkeeper Lê Cuc, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Lao Cai 24's Phạm Lan got a free kick in the 90th minute. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lao Cai 24! In the 97th minute of the match, Nghiêm Nam got a very nice opportunity to score, but Lê Cuc was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 98 minutes into the game, Dao Phuong's Đặng Thuyet nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lê Cuc made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4.
