The Tay Ninh fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when Tay Ninh's Lê Viet looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Tay Ninh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dao Phuong the free kick. Đào Loc was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vũ Thi Ngoc took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vũ Hong. Vũ Hong dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After a rather tough play, Dao Phuong's Nguyễn Thien got a free kick in the 35th minute. If Lê Viet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vũ Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phạm Bien, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. If Nguyễn Bien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lê Viet made a kick off. 56 minutes into the game, Lê Viet recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vũ Hong. Lê Viet showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. In the 60th minute, Đặng Thuyet made a precise shot to the right of Đào Loc. Tay Ninh's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Phạm Bien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Đào Loc didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nguyễn Bien went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. Vũ Hong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phạm Bien in the 70th minute. With his leg Vũ Hong managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Tay Ninh's Phạm Bien fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 74 minutes of play, Tay Ninh's Phạm Bien made it 3-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vũ Hong was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tay Ninh's Đào Loc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Đặng Thuyet in the 80th minute of play.
