Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Huỳnh Nam started the match with the kick off. When Chung Hung fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Viet Tri's protests and gave Chung Hung a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Vinh Yen booed when Viet Tri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chung Hung didn't get a good kick on the ball. Huỳnh Diem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Đặng Hoang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Huỳnh Diem was a little too slow when Huỳnh Nam got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 8th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 11th minute, Lê Quang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Viet Tri's zone, Lê Hieu Ngan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Huỳnh Diem came out of the goal and Lê Hieu Ngan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Đào Tuyet in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Huỳnh Diem, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Vinh Yen's Nguyễn Huynh Duc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Tấn Dũng in the 17th minute of play. Đào Tuyets short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Huỳnh Diem to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Vinh Yen's Lê Quang got a free kick in the 20th minute. 23 minutes into the game, Đào Tuyet recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Huỳnh Diem. Đào Tuyet showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Nguyễn Huynh Duc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trần Tấn Dũng in the 26th minute of the match. Lê Hieu Ngan in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Huỳnh Diem, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huỳnh Nam in the 32nd minute of play forced Viet Tri's goalkeeper Huỳnh Diem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Đào Tuyet came free with the goalkeeper in the 34th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Huỳnh Diem could save by the left post. An unexpected shot in the 38th minute by Huỳnh Nam got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a little luck, Viet Tri's Huỳnh Diem got control of the ball when Đào Tuyet tried to sneak it across the goal line. Huỳnh Diem made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Đặng Hoang sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
The wind increased when Trần Tấn Dũng made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huỳnh Nam in the 52nd minute of play forced Viet Tri's goalkeeper Huỳnh Diem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hồ Teo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 54th playminute. Huỳnh Diem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Huỳnh Nam, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Viet Tri's goal looked a bit too open when Lưu Ritchell came free, but Huỳnh Diem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Huỳnh Nam got in the 61st a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Huỳnh Diem handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 66 minutes into the match, Viet Tri's goal looked a bit too open when Huỳnh Nam came free, but Huỳnh Diem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lê Quang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Huỳnh Diem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Vũ Nam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hồ Teo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vinh Yen's Lê Hieu Ngan got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Huỳnh Diem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Đào Tuyet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vũ Nam charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vũ Nam the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Viet Tri! Huỳnh Diem had in the 90thth minute some difficulties stopping Nguyễn Phong's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Hồ Teo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Viet Tri's supporters rose to their feet, but Hồ Teo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Huynh Duc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Vinh Yen fully deserved thier win.
