Trần Minh Phượng made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Hanoi United Fg's Trần Minh Phượng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Loc in the 41st minute of play. Trần Minh Phượng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lê Tuyet, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adán Ecija to make the kick off. A collision led to FC GOCCAY getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Vương Lien hit a great ball. Adán Ecija recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Phùng Cuc might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Phạm Thanh. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Phùng Cuc ran back to his position shaking his head. Adán Ecija blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Phạm Thanh having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in FC GOCCAY's zone, Adán Ecija stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phạm Thanh came out of the goal and Adán Ecija tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Trần Minh Phượng was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nguyễn Loc showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 66 minute of play. Trần Minh Phượng was a little too slow when Nguyễn Loc got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 0-4. In the 77th minute Trần Thai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Minh Phượng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the game, Trần Thai lined in a short shot 0-5 behind a frustrated Trần Minh Phượng. Lê Tuyet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Minh Phượng having to interfere. 92 minutes into the game, Adán Ecija cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Phạm Thanh was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC GOCCAY had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
