In the 11th minute Benyamin Gómez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phan Duong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phan Duong came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by 08ornas FC's Benyamin Gómez. But to his dismay, Benyamin Gómez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Freddie Petersson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Phan Duong made a huge save. After 17 minutes, Phan Loc mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lao Bao and the 08ornas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Lao Bao getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Phan Loc hit a great ball. 08ornas FC's Jörn Hammarström got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lao Bao's Phan Duong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Lao Bao from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benyamin Gómez in the 22nd minute of play forced Lao Bao's goalkeeper Phan Duong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Benyamin Gómez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Phan Duong was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Freddie Petersson came free with the goalkeeper in the 24th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Phan Duong could save by the left post. In the 31st match minute, Lao Bao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Hung to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute, Nguyễn Huy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Benyamin Gómez managed to get in a good position for a shot. 08ornas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benyamin Gómez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Phan Duong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nguyễn Ritchell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Võ Thien, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. When Benyamin Gómez came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the 08ornas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benyamin Gómez couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Lao Bao booed when 08ornas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Thanh didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Đoàn Tinh made a kick off. The 08ornas FC fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when 08ornas FC's Freddie Petersson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Phan Duong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Freddie Petersson in the 61st minute of the match. 63 minutes into the game, Freddie Petersson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Phan Duong was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 67th minute of the match 08ornas FC got a corner. Lao Bao's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Benyamin Gómez ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on 08ornas FC's corner Benyamin Gómez fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Phan Duong quite easily take care of the ball. Dương Hong got a throw-in 69 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Đoàn Tinh. After a defensive mix-up in Lao Bao's zone, Freddie Petersson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phan Duong came out of the goal and Freddie Petersson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lý Nguyet during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 82nd minute, Freddie Petersson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The 08ornas FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Phan Duong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benyamin Gómez in the 94th minute of play. 08ornas FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
