Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Clive Chandran started the match with the kick off. Clive Chandran's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 3rdth minute, Sharizan Seng skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Haslingden's zone, Clive Chandran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sharizan Seng came out of the goal and Clive Chandran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Haslingden booed when Formby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sarb Choo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haslingden's Sharizan Seng proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Haslingden from getting a goal against them. Clive Chandran came free with the goalkeeper in the 21st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sharizan Seng could save by the left post. 24 minutes into the match, Haslingden's goalkeeper Sharizan Seng had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Clive Chandran. Bineesh Soon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Ee in the 26th minute of play. If Jithu Teo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Haslingden's Sharizan Seng got control of the ball when Clive Chandran tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sharizan Seng made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clive Chandran in the 34th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Haslingden's zone, Clive Chandran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sharizan Seng came out of the goal and Clive Chandran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Haslingden's Sharizan Seng got control of the ball when Prime Siang tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Clive Chandran could shoot a difficult shot in the 45th minute, which Sharizan Seng however easily saved by the left post. Faiz Cho charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Faiz Cho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Clive Chandran in the 55th minute of play forced Haslingden's goalkeeper Sharizan Seng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sharizan Seng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clive Chandran, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After 73 played minutes Formby got a freekick which was hit by Arif Paine. Bineesh Soon was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Merlin Chandran. When Faiz Cho was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 76 minutes had been played. In the 77th minute, Faiz Cho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 79 minutes into the match, Haslingden's goal looked a bit too open when Clive Chandran came free, but Sharizan Seng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th match minute, Haslingden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shahiran Tioe to maneuver through the defense. Haslingden's Sharizan Seng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clive Chandran in the 88th minute of play. Clive Chandran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sharizan Seng having to interfere.
