Didi Ee started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute Rudy Kool shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faiz Singh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Rudy Kool had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Faiz Singh. Tampines Rovers FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rudy Kool was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Jerry Peng charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerry Peng the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ong Chan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Didi Ee in the 27th minute of play. The supporters of Kensington booed when Tampines Rovers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ron Koh didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute of the match Faiz Lam shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Faiz Singh showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Kensington's Rudy Kool in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Nicholas Chong kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rudy Kool in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Faiz Singh saved Tampines Rovers FC from getting behind. After having played for 46 minutes, Rudy Kool managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kensington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rudy Kool was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The wind increased when Rudy Kool made the kick off in the second half. Faiz Singh stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rudy Kool's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Rudy Kool put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Faiz Singh. Lamar Chee hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Rudy Kool sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st match minute, Tampines Rovers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lamar Chee to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Kensington's Rudy Kool fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Faiz Lam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Faiz Singh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tampines Rovers FC's Faiz Singh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudy Kool in the 80th minute of play. 81 minutes into the game, Rifqi Singh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tampines Rovers FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kensington the free kick. After 81 played minutes Tampines Rovers FC got a freekick which was hit by Rifqi Singh. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudy Kool in the 82nd minute of play forced Tampines Rovers FC's goalkeeper Faiz Singh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Rudy Kool's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Faiz Singh was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. With a little luck, Kensington's Ong Chan got control of the ball when Zafran Sim tried to sneak it across the goal line. Faiz Singh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rudy Kool in the 91st minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Kensington's goal looked a bit too open when Didi Ee came free, but Ong Chan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kensington's Ong Chan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Kensington from getting a goal against them. There was no doubt that Kensington were the better team. Kensington's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
