The Milton Warriors fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when Milton Warriors's Khai Teo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Khai Teo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Merlin Lim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th match minute, Milton Warriors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Leng to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the game, Noh Tuan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Jorge Amaral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Folkestone's zone, Leon Celio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Merlin Lim came out of the goal and Leon Celio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leon Celio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Merlin Lim having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Leon Celio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Merlin Lim, 5-1. In the 41stth minute of the game Leon Celio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Folkestone's Merlin Lim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Folkestone's Merlin Lim got control of the ball when Khai Teo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 46th minute, Azam Hee got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Merlin Lim made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Khai Teo sent off a good shot on target.

The wind increased when Aziz Sum made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Folkestone booed when Milton Warriors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Azam Hee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Khai Teo in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Merlin Lim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Merlin Lim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Celio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Merlin Lim came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Milton Warriors's Khai Teo. But to his dismay, Khai Teo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. Merlin Lim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Azam Hee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute Khai Teo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Merlin Lim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Milton Warriors's Khai Teo in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Folkestone's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Folkestone getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Noh Tuan hit a great ball. Milton Warriors's supporters rose to their feet, but Azly Chian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Merlin Lim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Felix Laycock charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felix Laycock the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 79th minute Khai Teo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Merlin Lim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Azly Chian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Merlin Lim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Khai Teo, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Khai Teo in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Merlin Lim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ang Abdul struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Jorge Amaral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Folkestone. Leon Celio made a great header on Milton Warriors's corner, it was just that Folkestone's Merlin Lim managed to reach the ball for a save. Milton Warriors's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
