In the 12th minute Nicholas Cheng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Osbourn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicholas Cheng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Osbourn having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Launceston's zone, Jools Sherwood stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ong Lee came out of the goal and Jools Sherwood tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 24 minutes, Jools Sherwood managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chadderton United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jools Sherwood was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28th minute, Ronn Chuan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ong Lee was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Launceston's Alam Shyan got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Shukrie Tan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rueben Appleton in the 39th minute of play forced Launceston's goalkeeper Ong Lee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mark Osbourn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alam Shyan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alam Shyan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rueben Appleton to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, David Kvick managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chadderton United's supporters rose to their feet, but David Kvick was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ong Lee breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 54 minutes, Jerry Kool managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 94 minutes of play, Launceston's Ronn Lee made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mark Osbourn was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Launceston lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
