After having played for 26 minutes, Amirul Ching managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Launceston's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amirul Ching was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Taunton's goal looked a bit too open when Nicholas Cheng came free, but Sean Liang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Alam Shyan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alam Shyan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sean Liang having to make a save. Ronn Lee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Liang having to interfere. Alam Shyan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicholas Cheng was the one to do the kick off. Shukrie Tan kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Nicholas Cheng managed to get in a good position for a shot. Launceston's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicholas Cheng was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sean Liang breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nicholas Cheng received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sean Liang came out and tried to block the shot, but Nicholas Cheng slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 57th minute. Sean Liang made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Prime Lee sent off a good shot on target. In the 67th minute, Zak Teo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ong Lee was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Sean Liang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicholas Cheng in the 72nd minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Nicholas Cheng had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sean Liang. Taunton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicholas Cheng was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Alam Shyan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Liang having to interfere. Taunton's Sean Liang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicholas Cheng in the 79th minute of play. Nicholas Cheng recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd minute Alam Shyan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Liang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Taunton getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Shahron Lam hit a great ball. Ong Lee showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zak Teo in the 86th minute of the match. Prime Lee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Sean Liang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, Taunton's goalkeeper Sean Liang had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicholas Cheng. After 93 played minutes Launceston got a freekick which was hit by Didi Kang. When the match was over Launceston could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Taunton throughout the match.
