Spectators: 7791 (Terracing: 5844, Seating: 1792, VIP seats: 155) Alam Shyan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bakar Chong having to interfere. After having played for 8 minutes, Nicholas Cheng managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Launceston's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicholas Cheng was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bakar Chong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alam Shyan in the 10th minute of play. Bakar Chong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicholas Cheng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ash AFC's Bakar Chong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicholas Cheng in the 13th minute of play. A collision led to Ash AFC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Azli Tioe hit a great ball. Alam Shyan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Bakar Chong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bakar Chong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicholas Cheng in the 26th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Samuel Henderson made a precise shot to the right of Ong Lee. Launceston's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Bakar Chong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alam Shyan, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 34 minutes into the game, Nicholas Cheng cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Bakar Chong was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Launceston's Jerry Kool got a free kick in the 38th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Ong Lee successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ronn Lee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Bakar Chong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Ronn Lee ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bakar Chong was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. If Nicholas Cheng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Launceston were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Azly Hee made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Ash AFC's zone, Alam Shyan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bakar Chong came out of the goal and Alam Shyan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nicholas Cheng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bakar Chong having to interfere. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ash AFC's goalkeeper Bakar Chong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 63 minutes into the match, Ash AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Alam Shyan came free, but Bakar Chong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bakar Chong came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Launceston's Nicholas Cheng. But to his dismay, Nicholas Cheng quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Ash AFC's Bakar Chong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Ash AFC from getting a goal against them. If Ronn Lee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ash AFC's goalkeeper Bakar Chong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alam Shyan was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 94th minute. Launceston's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 95th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Alam Shyan hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. The Ash AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Launceston were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
