The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sarb Chong during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 3 played minutes Peacehaven got a freekick which was hit by Sarb Chong. Joel Tuan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Butcher having to interfere. Joel Tuan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Alan Butcher made a huge save. A collision led to FC LEON getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Khai Hock hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, FC LEON's Khairul Lee got a free kick in the 11th minute. Fariz Tioe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot by Alam Wah from long distance, 18 minutes into the match, got Alan Butcher's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Tuan in the 21st minute of play forced FC LEON's goalkeeper Alan Butcher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alam Tan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fariz Tioe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sarb Chong hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Peacehaven's Alam Tan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Peacehaven from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Fariz Tioe managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC LEON's supporters rose to their feet, but Fariz Tioe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alam Tan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 67 minutes of play Peacehaven's Sarb Chong was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 68th match minute, Peacehaven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sarb Chong to maneuver through the defense. If Joel Tuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
