After recieving a nice pass, Grasmere AFC's Dale Cheng tried to score from far away in the 3rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ronn Swee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Hafriz Cheng came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Hilperton FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hafriz Cheng couldn't finish the play. Zafran Swee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hidayat Ching having to interfere. Jonathan Ramachandran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 18 minutes into the match, Hilperton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Yang came free, but Muhammad Amin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Grasmere AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Hafriz Cheng came free, but Hidayat Ching reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Yang in the 24th minute of play forced Hilperton FC's goalkeeper Muhammad Amin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hilperton FC's Muhammad Amin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Yang in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Nicholas Yeo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grasmere AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hilperton FC the free kick. Muhammad Amin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Yang, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 34 minutes into the game, Hilperton FC's Zafran Swee nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hidayat Ching made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Azam Hian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Muhammad Amin having to interfere. If Zafran Swee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Yang to make the kick off. Zafran Swee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Hidayat Ching tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Azam Hian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Muhammad Amin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Azam Hian, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Hafriz Cheng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hidayat Ching having to interfere. Muhammad Amin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicholas Yeo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 70 minutes of play, Grasmere AFC's Joel Yang made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Muhammad Amin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hilperton FC's Muhammad Amin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Azam Hian in the 74th minute of play. Azam Hian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Muhammad Amin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel Yang recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 96th minute, Ronn Swee hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match was over Hilperton FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Grasmere AFC throughout the match.
