In the 5thth minute of the game Farhan Vijiaratnam who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stourbridge FC's Reuben Kerr was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Shapitears FC's Farhan Vijiaratnam, in the 5th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Shapitears FC. If Billy Rider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 played minutes Shapitears FC got a freekick which was hit by Arif Lim. After a rather tough play, Stourbridge FC's Nathan Pryor got a free kick in the 28th minute. Farhan Vijiaratnam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Reuben Kerr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reuben Kerr didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Afiq Keng went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience was convinced that Oscar Welsh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Khairul Kang was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. 62 minutes into the match, Stourbridge FC's Billy Rider sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Khairul Kang narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Shapitears FC's goal looked a bit too open when Billy Rider came free, but Khairul Kang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stourbridge FC's Reuben Kerr played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Farhan Vijiaratnam in the 69th minute of play. The supporters of Shapitears FC booed when Stourbridge FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calum Riley didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Afiq Keng got free with Reuben Kerr in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Afiq Keng could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Reuben Kerr made a huge save. Malcolm Turner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Shapitears FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Rudy Sarangapani hit a great ball. Malcolm Turner's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Khairul Kang read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. The Shapitears FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Shapitears FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
