Seating: 1125, VIP seats: 0) Woodley FC's Arif Yeo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Woodley FC's goalkeeper Ali Chan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerard Ching. Arif Yeo struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Vygandas Legeckas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Woodley FC. Adam Lee hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute there was a penalty for Woodley FC. Joel Lee stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Vygandas Legeckas. 0-1. Vygandas Legeckas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronn Yip in the 17th minute of the match. After having played for 21 minutes, Gerard Ching managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Singapore LionsXII's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerard Ching was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Woodley FC booed when Singapore LionsXII was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Azli Hee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vygandas Legeckas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronn Yip in the 30th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bakar Lee during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Woodley FC's Bakar Lee got a free kick in the 33rd minute. When Gerard Ching came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Singapore LionsXII fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerard Ching couldn't finish the play. In the 39th of the match, Azly Seng tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Ali Chan got in the way and made a wonderful save. In the 44th minute Ronn Yip shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vygandas Legeckas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Arif Yeo notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Singapore LionsXII's Vygandas Legeckas. Vygandas Legeckas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Azly Seng made the kick off in the second half. If Gerard Ching had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ali Chan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerard Ching in the 58th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the match, Azly Seng had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ali Chan. Woodley FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Azly Seng was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After a rather tough play, Singapore LionsXII's Anil Ee got a free kick in the 62nd minute. If Ronn Yip had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Singapore LionsXII booed when Woodley FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iskandar Hock didn't get a good kick on the ball. Azly Seng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Singapore LionsXII booed when Woodley FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. If Gerard Ching had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Woodley FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Iskandar Hock hit a great ball. After having played for 85 minutes, Gerard Ching managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Singapore LionsXII's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerard Ching was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Azly Seng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Chan having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, Woodley FC's Arif Yeo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vygandas Legeckas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ronn Yip sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vygandas Legeckas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arif Yeo, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Woodley FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
