After 5 minutes, Oscar Welsh mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stourbridge FC and the Hillview United players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Malcolm Turner came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Stourbridge FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Malcolm Turner couldn't finish the play. In the 16thth minute of the game Malcolm Turner who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hillview United's Gabriel Pieng was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Billy Rider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Hillview United's Gabriel Pieng got control of the ball when Malcolm Turner tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Stourbridge FC's Oscar Welsh got a free kick in the 25th minute. A nice corner shot did that Asiz Seng got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Reuben Kerr quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 29 minutes into the match, Hillview United's goal looked a bit too open when Billy Rider came free, but Gabriel Pieng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Billy Rider's late challenge caught a Hillview United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Billy Rider helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 played minutes Stourbridge FC got a freekick which was hit by Billy Rider. Reuben Kerr took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amir Siang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Stourbridge FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Oscar Welsh hit a great ball. After 35 minutes of play, Hillview United's Amir Siang made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reuben Kerr was left in no man's land by his defense there! Stourbridge FC's Billy Rider was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 43rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Billy Rider to make the kick off. Gabriel Pieng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Billy Rider, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Billy Rider struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Gabriel Pieng didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stourbridge FC. When Stourbridge FC's Malcolm Turner in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hillview United's goalie prevented a goal. Hillview United's Gabriel Pieng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billy Rider in the 58th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Stourbridge FC's goal looked a bit too open when Amir Siang came free, but Reuben Kerr reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reuben Kerr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amir Siang in the 65th minute of play. After 66 played minutes Hillview United got a freekick which was hit by Asiz Seng. Gabriel Pieng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Billy Rider, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Billy Rider fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Pieng having to interfere. Gabriel Pieng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billy Rider in the 80th minute of play. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hillview United's goalkeeper Gabriel Pieng, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gabriel Pieng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Billy Rider, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Shahron Hee kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Stourbridge FC's Glen Hayes couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 89th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Hillview United. In the 91st minute, Billy Rider left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Stourbridge FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. There was no doubt that Stourbridge FC were the better team. Stourbridge FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
