Felix Butcher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Azli Gopala Pillai having to interfere. A collision led to Brighouse getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Didi Hong hit a great ball. Brighouse's Faris Ning proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Brighouse from getting a goal against them. When Sean Cheng fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alwinton United's protests and gave Sean Cheng a yellow card for diving instead. Sean Cheng hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. When Felix Butcher came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Brighouse fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Butcher couldn't finish the play. 19 minutes into the match, Gara Sum notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Brighouse's Faris Ning. Faris Ning was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Faris Politiek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Brighouse fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 27 minutes, Alwinton United's Farhan Liang got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Faris Ning. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven Tioe in the 33rd minute of play forced Alwinton United's goalkeeper Azli Gopala Pillai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Steven Tioe hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gara Sum got free with Faris Ning in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Azli Gopala Pillai stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Steven Tioe's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. The supporters of Brighouse booed when Alwinton United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anil Tan didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 63rd minute of the game. One of Brighouse:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Alwinton United:s goal. After having played for 69 minutes, Gara Sum managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alwinton United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gara Sum was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 72 minutes into the match, Gara Sum had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Faris Ning. Brighouse's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gara Sum was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Azli Gopala Pillai stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Steven Tioe's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. After 81 minutes of play Alwinton United's Sean Cheng was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 82nd match minute, Alwinton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sean Cheng to maneuver through the defense. Gara Sum sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 93 minutes into the match, Alwinton United's goal looked a bit too open when Steven Tioe came free, but Azli Gopala Pillai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
