Black Banner's supporters rose to their feet, but Iskandar Lee was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hidayat Chai breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Black Banner booed when 重庆1997 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sajeev Peng didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ong Tuan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Mohammad Tan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Asiz Seng to strike the kick off in the second half. Black Banner's Mohammad Tan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ong Tuan in the 53rd minute of play. Hidayat Chai didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Iskandar Lee went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Zafran Sim in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mohammad Tan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ong Tuan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute.
