With a couple of smart ball manuevers Azam Hui in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mohammad Tan saved Black Banner from getting behind. Gage Yip kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. After 6 played minutes Black Banner got a freekick which was hit by Sarb Gopala Pillai. Farhan Chandran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alresford AFC's Jithu Liang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Farhan Chandran in the 15th minute of play. Shahron Tian's late challenge caught a Alresford AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Shahron Tian helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Azam Hui in the 26th minute of play forced Black Banner's goalkeeper Mohammad Tan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute Azam Hui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohammad Tan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute, Azam Hui got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Danial Ching's late challenge caught a Black Banner's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danial Ching helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Black Banner booed when Alresford AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danial Ching didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Famih Pieng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Farhan Chandran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Jithu Liang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Iskandar Lee managed to get in a good position for a shot. Black Banner's supporters rose to their feet, but Iskandar Lee was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jithu Liang breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jithu Liang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Farhan Chandran in the 61st minute of the match. Mohammad Tan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Famih Pieng in the 63rd minute. Sarb Gopala Pillai hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Azam Hui struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Mohammad Tan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alresford AFC. After a defensive mix-up in Black Banner's zone, Famih Pieng stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mohammad Tan came out of the goal and Famih Pieng tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Black Banner getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Shahron Tian hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Azam Hui in the 79th minute of play forced Black Banner's goalkeeper Mohammad Tan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, Azam Hui got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Famih Pieng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Mohammad Tan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 94 minutes into the game, Felix Paine was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Black Banner's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alresford AFC the free kick. In the 94th minute, Felix Paine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 97th minute Alresford AFC were awarded a corner. Alexander Lum went to the cornerflag to take it. The Black Banner fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Alresford AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
